Have you ever heard of a water ionizer? A water ionizer is a device that turns your tap water into ionized alkaline water. Why would you want to do that? Well, alkaline water can have all kinds of benefits!
What exactly does a water ionizer do?
A water ionizer uses electrolysis to split your water into alkaline (base) and acidic water. The alkaline water is what it's all about. This water has a higher pH and contains more antioxidants, which can help neutralize free radicals in your body.
Advantages of alkaline water
- Better hydration: Alkaline water is absorbed faster by your cells, keeping you better hydrated.
- Detoxification: It helps drain toxins from your body.
- Improved digestion: It can neutralize stomach acid, thus supporting your digestion.
- Energy boost: Many people report feeling more energetic after drinking alkalized water.
- Immune system support: The antioxidants in alkaline water can boost your immune system.
How do you use a water ionizer?
It's super simple! You connect the water ionizer to your faucet. Most models are very user-friendly and in no time you're ready to drink alkalized water. Portable models are also available for when you're on the go a lot.
Operation Water Ionizer
- The machine is connected to the tap or directly to the water supply
- First the organic and other harmful substances and gases are filtered out of the water by an activated carbon filter, the minerals remain in the water. Then the water enters a chamber, where ionization or electrolysis takes place, called the electrolysis chamber
- What happens in the ionization or electrolysis chamber: There is at least one platinum-coated titanium electrode on each side, one is positively charged, the other negatively charged. Thus a galvanic current can be created. The alkaline and acidic water are separated. This actually creates a chamber with alkaline and a chamber with acidic water. All the (useful) alkaline minerals are now in one chamber and the acidic minerals are in the other chamber.
- Cations: are positive ions, surrounding the negative electrode. Cathode water (basic reduced active water) is produced, which the Russians call Catholyt or "Water of Life." Anions are negative ions, surrounding the positive electrode. Anode water (acidic, oxidized water) is produced, which the Russians call Anolyt or "Water of Death." In the process, many free electrons (antioxidants) enter the chamber with the alkaline minerals
- Water molecules become basic, negatively charged OH- ions. Simultaneously, water clusters are restructured and assembled into the smallest possible units. Thus, among other things, the viscosity of the water changes and the water acquires various other qualities - hence it is also called Action Water. Except for the pH value, all these changes are unstable and thus the water will return to its original appearance after a period of time.
- To ensure that there is enough calcium in the water to ionize , the filter usually still contains high-quality coral calcium. Thus, this filter still allows traces of calcium to be released so that adequate ionization can take place
- The tap water, which is changed into ionized alkaline water water then comes out on demand from the flexible stainless steel hose of the water ionizer, while the acidic water runs out of the gray hose at the back of the unit. The alkaline water is used as drinking water and for cooking. The acidic water is suitable for washing hands, rinsing mouths, cleaning kitchen utensils and treating abrasions, for example.
Buy water ionizer?
If you're serious about your health and well-being, a water ionizer is a great investment. Not only does it give you access to clean, filtered water, but it also improves the quality of the water you drink. Plus, it's more environmentally friendly than constantly buying bottled water.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing?
- pH range: Look for a model with a wide pH range so you can adjust the alkalinity to your preference.
- Filtration system: Make sure the ionizer also has a good filtration system to remove impurities.
- Ease of use: Choose a device that is easy to install and use.
- Price: There are models in different price ranges. Determine your budget and see what you can get for it.
